Dying Black hair brown?

I have naturally red hair, I am a guy but my hair is pretty long it reaches down to my chin all around.. I dyed it black for about a year now and I want to go brown.. I tried dying it a medium shade of brown yesterday and a light shade of brown today.. I know im not suppost to mix the 2 but so far its fine, but color wise its still black.. the red roots are a little darker.. but I let the dye sit in my hair for about 30 minutes each time I did it.. and still no results.. any help on getting rid of this black hair? =)

Dying Black hair brown?

Going for that punk look huh? Well that's pretty cool.

Now you have to get it bleached then colored. I recommend The Hair Cuttery to do this because the "bleach" used can be dangerous. Hair Cuttery has stylist that aren't judgmental to your kind of style. Like me, I went there thinking it was an all white place and they couldn't black hair. But they did my hair color nicely.

Good luck.

Dying Black hair brown?

Get it professionally done. They use a peroxide based product to lift the black. Once you've had it done once, you should be able to maintain it on your own.

Dying Black hair brown?

you need to go to a salon and have your hair bleached and have it dyed brown. thats the only way you can remove it (other than letting your roots grow) obviously u cannot go lighter when you dyed your hair black, so bleaching it is the only way i know how

Dying Black hair brown?

You'd have to grow it out. Seems like its not growing out very fast though, so you would have to bleach it most likely from a salon, and then re-dye it a colour you'd rather have until next time you dye it. I suggest waiting a bit though, colouring your hair too much will make it fall out =[

Dying Black hair brown?

You are going to have to lift the color with 10-20% peroxide. I wouldnt do anything for another month or so unless you want hair that will feel like straw.

Dying black hair at home?

should i put hydrogen peroxide in brown hair dye to make my black hair lighter. because if i just use the brown hair dye it wont do anything to my black hair. so what should i do if i want my hair to be a lighter color then black?

Dying black hair at home?

I have found that when you are trying to lighten your hair, always pay to have it done professionally.

Dying black hair at home?

I guess you could bleach your hair super blonde at first, it will look red maybe.. but after that you dye it what brown hair color you like .. but I suggest you to talk to a professional salon !!

Total black hair nightmare!!! HELP!?

Please try try try to relax ( easier said than done ) BUT if you keep putting all of those chemicals in your hair back to back...I promise you won't have any hair to worry about....meaning it will fall right out or break right off SO please try to relax. #1 - wait at least three days between these chemical processes you're doing on your hair. Use a base on your scalp before you apply anymore color or chemical to protect your scalp from burning or any abrasions you may have already created. IF YOU want your hair to be lighter...you will have to lighten it in stages. Go to your local beauty supply store and find a permanent color....ask the person in the store to show you a color wheel or color chart. The color chart will show u base colors and whatever you have used in your hair so far...you need to use the opposite base to counteract the color you've put in your hair. The black color usually has a blue base....so look at the color wheel and choose a new color that has that color base in it (THE OPPOSITE OF BLUE)....that will neutralize your existing color. Once you've done that wait a couple of days or weeks to gradually lighten that color up....hopefully that will get u started...I've had the hair nightmare too!!!!!! : (

Total black hair nightmare!!! HELP!?

i would try to get back to normal by now if i was u .......no need to mess it up more

Total black hair nightmare!!! HELP!?

You sound like you need to find a hair color professional and leave the dye alone on your end for a while...

Total black hair nightmare!!! HELP!?

put down the hair dye!!!!

just have it stripped again

Total black hair nightmare!!! HELP!?

poor thing! Dye your hair back to black - that's the only way, to my mind.

Total black hair nightmare!!! HELP!?

This happened to me once before and this is what I did: 1.went to a hairdresser and dyed it my natural color. 2. waited a few days (because too much chemicals at one time can damage your hair and REALLY burn your scalp) 3. went back to my hairdresser and had my highlights put in. Don't worry, it'll all be okay. Hope I helped =]]

Total black hair nightmare!!! HELP!?

Easiest way to avoid this - be happy with who you are. =)

Total black hair nightmare!!! HELP!?

Well I don't know if you could do that but I found some useful tips on how to get hairdye off of hair!

Black hair dye is a special case.

It's very hard to remove black hair dye from your hair completely, especially if it's permanent. Better to let it grow out and not bleach it. Bleaching with chemicals damages the hair it may make it so stretchy and thin that it comes out in your comb.

Color Fix by Jheri Redding is designed to remove unwanted permant hair color, and controlled usage allows color correction to specific areas, either full or slight color corrections.

Loreal Color Zap gently washes away all permanent haircolor. Ideal for color correction, removal of dark shades, muddy, uneven results or color build up. Leaves hair ready for immediate re-coloring. Loreal Effasol Color Remover washes away permanent haircolor, leaving hair ready for recoloring. Can be used with water or developer.

Total black hair nightmare!!! HELP!?

You won't get blonde highlights from black hair, the amount of time you will have to leave the bleach on for, it will be so overly processed it will probably fall out since you have recently had all over bleach .... avoid bleach!!!!

When you weren't happy with the yellow blonde you should have told the stylist at the time that this is not what you wanted and for her to change it, which they usually will even if you went back the next day.

Find a repuetable hairdresser to sort it out before it gets worse :S

Is black hair recessive?

My dad has light brown hair, my mom has jet black hair.

My sibling all came out with brown hair, but I'm the only one with black hair.

Since it was less common, I was wondering if black hair was recessive to brown hair.

Is black hair recessive?

Black is dominant over most other hair colors - A general rule of thumb is that the lighter the color, the more recessive it is.

Sounds like your siblings all just got "lucky" with the brown hair (not to imply that black hair is bad, o' course!).

Is black hair recessive?

Really hmm that's interesting in animals it isn't reccesive.

Is black hair recessive?

No, it's dominant. but then again more than one gene dtermines hair color.

Is black hair recessive?

More than 1 gene determines hair color. Dark is dominant lightis recessive. Those in between are a combo of genes with recessive inheritance. Same with skin and eye color. Called Multiple Alleles.

Hair Help ? I should of new better ! How do i cover black hair?

Hi, Here goes, i tried to creat a two tone look, blonde on top and black underneath. I know i have trouble getting my hair back to blonde as i have so many different colour on my hair for the bleach to take. Anyways. My Brothers girlfriend has the same two toned hair and she said she had hair like mine and she said she used hair dye to get her hair as blonde as she can. I know hair dye cant possibly get it that whiteish blonde, Anyways. i thought i give it a go and so she got me the hair dye she aprantly used to bleach her hair. I thought it was going to be a bleach bleach, thinking she told me wrong but it was an actual blonde hair dye, She said them ore i keep dying it with his blonde hair dye the lighter it will get. So I did the underneath blacj, obviously i was going tot do the top first so i would just beable to go over the blonde with a hair dye and underneath will go the same shade. But she said i will have to do the black first. So I did, i used loads of boexs of hair dye

Hair Help ? I should of new better ! How do i cover black hair?

Oh Angel, what have you done?

OK, first thing is do not apply any more bleach or any more hair colour whatsoever.

You have received a couple of good suggestions regarding going to a hairdresser, but I would suggest caution there too because some salons would unscrupulously offer the world and charge you the same to recover your desired colour.

A decent hair salon owner would tell you what I am about to....

Do nothing except care for your hair by washing it with nutrient giving shampoo's and conditioners.

Seriously, do nothing! You must now let your hair GROW out.

I would also suggest that you only wash your hair once every TEN days in order to allow the natural oils to flourish and do their job. Once a week at most.

By all means go to a hair salon, but you should only be receiving advice for your peace of mind rather than more colouring sessions.

Please feel free to email me at any time if you want to, but I urge you not to try anything else, ok? Let it grow and recover.

Best wishes,

Phillipa

Try going to the hair dressers or ask ur parent(s)/guardian good luck!!

Hair Help ? I should of new better ! How do i cover black hair?

I don't think there is a way to cover black hair. You would have to use an all over hair color, or bleach it back again. You need to be really careful.

Of course I would recommend a professional take a look at it. Please don't listen to your brothers girlfriend, she did not know what she was talking about.

Hair Help ? I should of new better ! How do i cover black hair?

dye to brown then dye to light brown then dye to blonde....be careful and use a deep conditioning treatment to repair your hair your putting it through alot of stress

Hair Help ? I should of new better ! How do i cover black hair?

Hair dye will not lighten. You put colour in but to take it out you owuld have to use bleach and on black it gonna be terrible. My advice is to go to salon and see what they can do.

Hair Help ? I should of new better ! How do i cover black hair?

OK this is a pretty easy one so I hope I can help...The ONLY thing that removes black hair dye without harming your hair is a hair color remover. You can buy them in most places like Wal Mart,Target,K Mart. You have to put the color remover kit on your hair FIRST to get rid of the black, but you need to know that though it will really lighten your hair you still have to recolor your hair. The color remover will remover a lot of natural oils and things your hair needs leaving it in a shape to break if you don't recolor. So you could do the color remover then go with a blonde that is close to your natural color. If you want your hair a really light blonde after that I would suggest waiting a couple of weeks(like three) then using a lighting product like White Lighting. You can normally get it places like Hot Topic. Manic Panic makes one too and though they do cost a little more then just normal hair color they will not only make your hair a very light blonde...like white...they wont harm your hair the way coloring it over and over again will. As a natural blonde you should avoid coloring your hair over and over because it can lead to breakage and in the long run hair loss.

Hair Help ? I should of new better ! How do i cover black hair?

ok dont listen to the ppl telling you to grow it out! you dont wanna look like a freak for a year, you'll be miserable!!! just go to a salon have them dye it back to its original color and then lay off the dye for awhile so your hair wont fall out! my sister had a similar problem, they "stripped" out the dye and dyed it back to her natural color. good luck girl!!!

Hair Help ? I should of new better ! How do i cover black hair?

I absolutely agree with Phillipa!!

She knows what she's talking about and FINALLY! SOmeone who makes sense!!

I wouldn't let anyone touch it now. And that includes yourself. Trying to color it again yourself is going to be disasterous!! Leave it alone. Don't touch it and don't PAY anyone to mess it up even more.

The color might end up to be okay but you will jeopordize your hair to the EXTREME. You dn't need a chemical cut!! (that is when you're hair is so fried from chemicals that you need to cut it really short!)

Good luck and BACK AWAY FROM THE COLORS!!!

:o)

(ps.) there's a GOOD reason why all the salons you're calling won't take you!! Keep that in mind! ;o)

Hair Help ? I should of new better ! How do i cover black hair?

ok ok calm down pettle!!

all of the hairdressers you have been to are right in saying the wont strip it coz this will only damage your hair even more, stripping hair means adding more chemicals

!

as for the first hardresser, is she even qualified!!

the best thing you could do is let the colour grow out!

have it cut every 6 weeks, just get 1-2 inches taken off it, your hair will be healthier for it in the long run too.

hope this helps!! x

Platinum blonde chunks with black hair, how bad can it damage my hair?

Alright, I'm going to be real specific. My hair is natural black I know that for a fact, its not dark goth black but a light black. I only bleached it once in my whole life and that was 4 to 5 years ago. No damaged happned and I got beautiful results. Over the years I dyed my hair with no bleach and my results where with brown, black hair and reddish light hair causing it to look almost brunnet. Which I dont mind it actually looks and feels better then before.

Well i was wondering, because of that, would my hair need alot of bleach since it seems its already ligthened.

Also onther fact, my hair is good with lasting long with dyed affects. These were all home done each after a year and I still have them, I would say my hair is pretty strong and healthy.

I have fair skin, short hair, and brownish eyes, that turn greyish in the winter. If that helps any.

Would the bleach damage my hair, or would it seem fine, because of how light it got over the years. I dont want dramatic answers also

Platinum blonde chunks with black hair, how bad can it damage my hair?

once you apply bleach to any hair the texture changes . although it did;NT hurt it before your body chemistry changes yr after yr . just try to do as little streaks as possible maybe just frame your face first you can always do more and if you have allot of red pigments PLATINUM will be difficult to achieve good luck !

Platinum blonde chunks with black hair, how bad can it damage my hair?

as long as you do it right your hair will be fine. i recommend that you don't wash your hair for like 2 days before you bleach it because the bleach won't dry out your hair so bad if you have the natural oils in it.

Platinum blonde chunks with black hair, how bad can it damage my hair?

to go that light it will damage your hair.....plus you would look like a zebra with plat blonde and black hair

Brown to Black hair?

Hello, I was just wondering if black hair is the way to go. I ADORE black hair, as a little girl, i had it black, but throughout the years it began to get lighter, up til now, it's a dark/medium brown. I hate the thought of dying my hair with harmful chemicals....Would any of you know if Henna black is good?? Or know of any natural, less-chemical way to color hair?

Brown to Black hair?

I like black hair, it looks mysterious and nice. I'm not really familiar with Henna, but i hear coffee beans are good for coloring your hair in a natural way.

Brown to Black hair?

it usually depends on the persons skin tone and how they look with it. some people can rock both.

Brown to Black hair?

The Henna black will give you purple colors and it will not look good at all. It tends to make your hair dull and have a lot less shine too. No one should ever go totally black anyway. If you did put a color on your hair then you would want to go with the darkest brown, not black! The dark brown will look pretty black anyway. When you die your hair black it really looks terrible and like a witch you might say. I have seen too many girls try it and afterward it just looked awful. Out in the sun light it shows purple really bad and it also looks dull and really dead looking. Just don't do it!! Sorry I could not tell you that it looked great but it just won't.

Brown to Black hair?

I'm in love with black hair too. Oddly, my hair was a light brown, but I had black eyebrows so it came out surprisingly nice. I never heard of henna black...I've been getting L'Oreal permenant black hair dye. The chemicals shouldn't hurt you, just don't do it TOO often, like every month. With permenant dye, wash it regurlary until it fades, which should be in six months or so, then dye it again. Your hair should be fine. You also might to consider getting it done professionally, that way the colorist can tell you how to take care of it, etc.

Brown to Black hair?

You can do henna. Black hair is always good. I'm partial I guess b/c my hair is still black. Also talk to your colorist about other "natural" alternatives to traditional dye. Depending on where you go, the colorist should be able to use henna, if not try visiting a Middle Eastern or Indian neighborhood for a salon. Most likely there will be henna there.

Red/ Black Hair Dye question!?

Usually when i get my hair done at the hair dresser i get red bits at the front on the fringe and sides...

.. but last time i had red thin bits all over my hair... and i think i perfer my jet black hair with red at front...........its more effective.

all the times of dyin my front bits red has caused multi-tone reds..

where they hav faded differently and look different wen dyed ontop of each red. - it looks quite good actually.

BUT i was thinking of dyin it all back to black myself, then get red put at the front at the hair dressers. That way the old red wont effect it...

Sounds like a good idea? and How long do i have to wait between dyes?

Red/ Black Hair Dye question!?

the first photo looks the best, i would try and keep it like that by just going over the red areas at the front to brighten them up again as they DO look faded in the last photo. there is a phrase used in my industry that states "colour will NOT lighten colour" which means that if you colour all of your hair black the you won't be able to go lighter without bleach. which means you would either have to bleach them to the red stage: http://photobucket.com/albums/j157/plati... which would be brassy without toner or bleach to the orange stage and THEN use a red haircolour. i have been in the business as a fully trained professional for 8 years so trust me when i say it will be a waste of money and make NO difference to your hair if you colour it black all over and then try and go over it with red.

Red/ Black Hair Dye question!?

usually about 2 weeks but that sounds cool, i like your style.

Red/ Black Hair Dye question!?

Sounds good, but wait a few weeks inbetween the dying sessions. An even easier way to do it would be to just go to a hairdresser and have her do dye it black and then red, because she can do it all in one go.

Good luck!

Red/ Black Hair Dye question!?

your meant to wait a good couple weeks between dyes but i never did, always sooner.

i think all black with red bits at the front would look cool, but then i bottle my hair blond with red tints and the front too see my avatar.

kind regards x kitti x

Red/ Black Hair Dye question!?

Um, I'm a boy and I kind of like most of them.

I'm not into that striking red that almost glows but any colour like what a woman would normally have looks nice.

I've got jet black hair naturally and you've given me a good idea to mess with some colours.- I see the rest of guys at college doing it and it might be fun..... Yea.

Red/ Black Hair Dye question!?

I suggest letting your hairdresser do the whole thing for you. If you dye your whole head back to black then ask your hairdresser to put red in, it will take a lot of work for him/her to get the black out in the places you want red. But if you just let your hairdresser do the whol thing, they will know exactly what to do in order to get the results you want and cause the least amount of damage to your hair.

Red/ Black Hair Dye question!?

Four to six weeks is best to wait on dying your hair .I like the second and third pictures the best .the third looks the most natural.

Red/ Black Hair Dye question!?

to be honest the black should really be done at the same time as the red.you see tint wont lift the tint out of youre hair so you may end up with red roots only im a hairdresser abd i deal with this a lot i would reccommend you go to a salon to have it done the dye is less harsh and you know you will get the rigght colour. good luck

Black hair dye...help!?

Recently, after months being a "blonde" and all the maintenence that goes with it, I dyed my hair a lovely chocolate brown. My hair is healthier than it's ever been and I have a renewed love for dark hair, especially as my skin is quite pale.

I love this colour (my hair is a bit longer than shoulder length) and I am very tempted to dye it raven black because I love the contrast of it against my skin.

I would only be using a semi-permanent, but my question is, after you dye your hair black, how long would it take to wash out? My normal hair colour is golden blonde/light brown.

Thanks, and can anyone recommend a good hair dye?

Black hair dye...help!?

I personally love black hair with pale skin.

Anyway, if you choose semi-permanent, depending on what brand, possibly 15 to 20 washes (temporary is 15 and under, while permanent is 20+, roughly). But it depends what you wash your hair with (colour shampoos etc) and the way you look after it.

Schwarzkopf is my favourite brand for hair dye and most hairstyling products.

Keep in mind that black hair is a pain to get out. Make sure willing to keep it or know the consequences of dying it black.

Black hair dye...help!?

As a hairstylist i would not recommend coloring your hair black unless you plan to keep it that way.

Black hair dye...help!?

semi permanent doesn't last very long. it too hard to keep up with. i would recommend not to do it. unless u really wanna keep up with it.

Black hair dye...help!?

Well... I never went to cosmetology school, but an old roomate of mine had sandy blonde hair and went to black and it was almost a gray color once the die lightened, so be careful

Dying my hair black. Help.?

I know I keep asking this but I'm kinda worried since I've read quite a few stories about people not getting good results from dying their hair.

Ok well, I've always wanted to dye my hair black, so what I did was I first bought a non-permanent dye (natural black) to see what it would look like on me. It looked good but I was expecting it to be darker. My natural hair color is VERY dark brown, almost black...like the one in this picture with the name of "C-2 Dark Brown":

http://www.hopefashions.com/images/color...

So today, I bought a permanent black hair dye. To be exact, it was this one:

http://www.amazon.com/LOreal-Feria-Hair-...

First question: I'm not planning on doing this but it wouldn't hurt to know. Would it be bad to dye my hair with this permanent one OVER the non-permanent one (mind you, I dyed my hair with the non-permanent only 3 days ago).

Dying my hair black. Help.?

Don't worry about dying it black; most likely you'll need two boxes of dye if your hair is long and/or thick. I know I did!

Temp. dyes always turned out lots lighter than a permanent black dye, so permanent dye won't do that.

Your roots won't be very noticeable unless they're blonde or red or generally really light; my sis has dirty blonde and you can barely tell where the roots have grown and the black dye remains. the roots have grown quite a bit. but my hair is red, and the roots were very noticeable. just dye your roots, it won't ruin your hair to do so.

I recommend Revlon ColorSilk! It's real cheap and it keeps your hair soft and pretty. Plus it works.

I doubt it will have negative effects to use permanent over temp.

Dying my hair black. Help.?

well since your hair color is so close to the color that your permanently putting in your hair i don't believe it will look bad once it grows out. i know that from experience...but i would probably make sure that the temporary dye is out of your hair before you put the permanent dye in your hair b/c the color you bought is REALLY DARK and you don't want it looking purpleish...so i would wait until all the temporary dye is out first. HOPE I HELPED!

Hair help for black hair?

My 3yr old daughter has hair that has small corkscrews all the way down the hairshaft. It's extremely dry. If I put gel on it, it will look shiny and curly, but I don't like the way it feels and it's very drying. I was considering letting her wear her hair out to a wedding and I am trying to find a really good leave in conditioner and hair products for her to wear her hair out. Her hair is not kinky, but if it's brushed too much it will look that way because it'll be dry looking and puffy. I find that manipulating it with my fingers and a very wide comb is best. I've looked on many beauty sites for black hair and all the suggestions do not seem to work. I use Infusium 23 Leave In right now, and shampoo and condition with Pantene Relaxed and Natural. My daughter and I are both black, but her hair is like my husband's and totally different from mine, so I need a little help. If anyone has this hair type, what do you use?!?

Hair help for black hair?

try using some oil sheen on her hair, not too much you don't want it to look greasy, but just enough to make her curls look pretty. you could even try using Biosilk, it makes the hair nice %26amp; smooth, but you can only find it in salons or beauty supply stores.

If you need any more help feel free to ask, or visit my forum:

http://mysticbeauty0.proboards74.com/ind...

Hair help for black hair?

I dont have this hair type but a friend of mine does and she uses hand lotion, just a small amount on her hair. She says this is the only thing that works for her.

Hair help for black hair?

I use Vive for Women of Color Shampoo/Conditioner sometimes, but mostly I use Nexxus conditioners. They are awesome, and with their use the dryness will decrease. Also, oils help, but they are very short term. Use something light, or make your own with tee tree oils and other ingredients. For her, I would recommend getting BBD Stretch, which is a leave in moisturizer/conditioner for dry hair. It helps the hair to retain the moisture and will help with the tightness.

Hair help for black hair?

you should try using Sun-Silk defrizzing Leave in, or try some of the Garnier Fructis moose, and leave-in.

Hair help for black hair?

i suggest that you try hair products for black children. my mother buys them for my 3 brothers... they all have different hair. the 12 year old's hair is really, REALLY thick and kinda spongy. the 10 year old's hair is really wavy and not as thick. the 8 year old's hair is really thick and more course than the other 2. my mother tries a lot of different stuff to find what works best. motions for kids is okay... i can't remember the one she has now but this stuff is okay for all types of black hair. i braid all of their hair twice a month and we like to do it in a timely manner... to blow dry after the wrong shampoo and conditioner could be a real big fight! don't be afraid to experiment to find what works best for your baby girl. as stylists and the people who work in the beauty supply stores near you... they have to know the products. good luck!

p.s. try not to use gel in your daughter's hair a lot... it could be damaging. my aunt uses something called "noodle head" to keep her hair soft and curly all day without using mousse or gel. i haven't tried it but she has told me more than once that it is a really good product. also, when using leave in conditioners, try not to use liquid ones... they tend to dry the hair out a little more than the "lotion" types.

try these tips...... they relle work!!

Sick of black hair...help!?

I have been dying my hair black for like 2 years almost!

Now I want to have medium honey brown hair. Does anyone know what the process is like to get this done?? I want to go to a hair stylist so I dont ruin my hair. Is this very difficult? Do you know how much it will cost?

Also, lets say they bleach my hair blonde and then dye it. Once my natural mousy brown hair comes thru on the roots and I dye that color, will my roots not match the rest of my hair? Cuz hair dye will look different on my bleached hair than it will on my natural hair. does that make sense? I feel like I am screwed and stuck with black hair forever.

Sick of black hair...help!?

They will strip it and color over it, yes. This process will take 2 plus hours. If you do some highlighting, with some of your natural color in it, you dont have to go as often. Every other time will be a root touch-up. The cost can get expensive, mine was 70,but for your initial coloring worth it.

Removing black hair dye without bleaching?

I dyed my hair black a while back and I want to dye it a different color but I know that black hair dye is hard to get out. I don't want to bleach my hair because I've bleached my hair twice before and my hair felt like straw afterwards. Is there any other way to get rid of the black hair dye so I can dye my hair a different color?

Removing black hair dye without bleaching?

i would use a deep deep cleaning shampoo.

try

-bumble and bumble tonic.

-brocato peppermint scrub purifying shampoo %26lt;-- this is wonderful!

-neutrogena shampoo. (just the regular weekly shampoo)

use everytime you shampoo. for about two weeks.

the color will fade a bit but not completely.

make sure your also using conditiner (as much as your trying to take out the color you dont want to dry your hair)

thats what i did to take some too dark color out of my hair.

also you could try a color removal kit.

ive never tried them so im not sure how well they work.

but i do know the color your hair is afterwards is not your natural color so you'll have to dye again. but you can pretty much do any color, itll take all of the black out.

---

and last you could try a hot oil treatment . its supposed to take dye out, but if not it will always condition hair

i added links in the bottom for you.

good luck =]

Removing black hair dye without bleaching?

nope..

not really..

hey but you could always ask a hair stylist.

Removing black hair dye without bleaching?

i don't think so

Removing black hair dye without bleaching?

If you have bleached your hair a couple of times before then put black dye over that? I suggest you see a professional. Seriously. Your hair is a potential disaster waiting to happen.

The heartache from using bleach one too many times and ending up with mushy, destroyed hair isn't worth trying to do it on your own, again. Trust me. I know.

Removing black hair dye without bleaching?

I have black, damaged hair too. When I go to the salon every 4-6 weeks, I have my hair stylist highlight my hair with bleach then dye the bleached parts, but it will take months before my whole head is back to a lighter color.

You can do that, but pretty much anything else you do will damage your hair even more because if you bleach your head again all at once, your hair could start breaking and falling out. If you bleach only a little of it, only a few more hairs fall out and it's not as damaging.

Removing black hair dye without bleaching?

YOu will have to go to a professional and get it stripped i would recommend getting conditioning treatments before and for sure after

Removing black hair dye without bleaching?

really there isn't anything you can do. Color doesnt lift old color out, so hair that is dyed black, dark brown things like that cant be colored light brown. The best option you have is to put highlights in. Don't do it your self. The stylist will use bleach to lift out the old color... most likely the result will be an ugly orange color, to make this better the stylist will tone or color balance, this is a gentle process that will put a color on to that bleached hair.

Removing black hair dye without bleaching?

Sorry, but this is truly a case of once you go black you'll never go back...LOL. At least not without bleach or letting it grow out. You have to strip out black to make the hair any lighter color (all colors are lighter than black).

This is hard on the hair, you are right. Worse yet, black barely fades like most other artificial colors.

You are in a pickle no doubt. And don't be fooled by products that say "remover" or stripper because what it all boies down to is...bleach.

Try to live with it or, have it fixed and cut it short and start over !Good luck !

Removing black hair dye using a mixture of bleach + shampoo. hair bleach or household bleach ? :S?

i'm using a mixture of a small amount of bleach + 2 tbps shampoo to help remove my permanent black hair dye.

is that household bleach or hair bleach?

i just found it off some hair website.

i'm confused :S

is it even safe for removing black hair dye?

Removing black hair dye using a mixture of bleach + shampoo. hair bleach or household bleach ? :S?

just use color strip/

Removing black hair dye using a mixture of bleach + shampoo. hair bleach or household bleach ? :S?

Do not put household bleach in your hair it will burn you head. You should probably go to a professional for that. They will have to strip your hair.

Removing black hair dye using a mixture of bleach + shampoo. hair bleach or household bleach ? :S?

If they said it on a website, it must be ok, and since they didnt specify what type of bleach to use, it must mean that its ok to use any kind. I would just fire it all on, you will be fine!

Removing black hair dye using a mixture of bleach + shampoo. hair bleach or household bleach ? :S?

dont do this on your own - go to a hairdresser - if you get this wrong you will end up looking like orange and damaged like worsel gumage or bald like right said fred.

Removing black hair dye using a mixture of bleach + shampoo. hair bleach or household bleach ? :S?

Yes, there is a way to remove black hair dye, BUT DON'T USE BLEACH!!!! YOU COULD LOSE YOUR EYESIGHT!!!!

The best thing I have found is Loreal Color Zapper. I've tried other products, but the Loreal is the gentlest. Beware though, that removing hair dye means completely stripping your hair color. You'll have to find a dye close to your original hair color if that's what you want to go back to. My personal favorite has been Revlon - I love their conditioner! But if you have a favorite that works for you, that is cool too! JUST DON'T USE BLEACH!!!!!!

Removing black hair dye using a mixture of bleach + shampoo. hair bleach or household bleach ? :S?

your one crazy lady to use household bleach!

Removing black hair dye using a mixture of bleach + shampoo. hair bleach or household bleach ? :S?

Pertolsationguy 'If they said it on a website it must be OK'????!!!!

ARE YOU CRAZY!

It's safe to stick your tongue in a live electrical socket.

I've said that on a website , so it must be OK.

Don't believe everything you read on a website.

Removing black hair dye using a mixture of bleach + shampoo. hair bleach or household bleach ? :S?

Use a color stripper, go tho a hair dresser to remove the colour or use peroxide. All types of removal will damage your hair. Do not use household stuff on your head. You will probably do more harm than good.

Removing black hair dye using a mixture of bleach + shampoo. hair bleach or household bleach ? :S?

please don't put household bleach near your head,u will do serious damage.if you are going to do this at home you need to buy a bottle of pre lightener, but test a little on your scalp first to see if it burns or leaves a rash,if it doesn't u can proceed. you may have to go to a hairdresser to have it done properly especially if your hair is very dark but whatever u do do not put household bleach please .good luck xxxxxx

Removing black hair dye using a mixture of bleach + shampoo. hair bleach or household bleach ? :S?

Dont use household bleach!, You can buy hair bleach from the chemist to remove dark colour or seek advise from a hair dresser.

Removing black hair dye using a mixture of bleach + shampoo. hair bleach or household bleach ? :S?

Eh..I wouldn't use any of the stuff...You do realize that the bleach won't work(as you have to let it process), and if it did, It'd turn your hair Blond..and the house hold bleach...I'm not even gonna go there...Ethier recolor or strip your hair..

Removing black hair dye using a mixture of bleach + shampoo. hair bleach or household bleach ? :S?

Never, ever put bleach on your hair!!! Go to a salon and get your hair done. It's worth every penny and you'll be happy with the results. I've tried many drug store hair coloring kits and end up having to go to a salon to have them fix it. Good Luck!

Removing black hair dye using a mixture of bleach + shampoo. hair bleach or household bleach ? :S?

hair bleach. it's a powder. it has to be mixed with developer to work.

1 oz. powder bleach

1 oz. developer

1 oz. shampoo

1 oz. destilled water

remember that it will lighten faster at the root/scalp area of the hair so start at the middle, go to the ends then the scalp area

Removing black hair dye using a mixture of bleach + shampoo. hair bleach or household bleach ? :S?

if it came with the shampoo then it will be hair beach and not household beach

and pleae don't use household bleach your hair will never be the same

Removing black hair dye using a mixture of bleach + shampoo. hair bleach or household bleach ? :S?

no no no no no no

you need colour correction where ur hair wud b bleached with hair bleach to strip the colour - this shud only be done at home as home kits do not contain a high enough level of peroxide to remove the colour....

Bleach Black Hair Help ?!?!?!?

i have black semi long hair i want to bleach the tips blonde what do i do? and im going into swimming season and for a tradittion the whole swimming team bleaches there hair blonde well.. last year i saw people have orange hair instead of blonde they said its cause there hair was black before so what do i have to do to NOT get orange hair??

Bleach Black Hair Help ?!?!?!?

First you have to bleach it. Since you have black hair it will turn orange, now what you have to do is dye the orange blonde.

Bleach Black Hair Help ?!?!?!?

that's because they didn't leave it long enough

but bleaching your hair can really damage it especially if your going to be in a chlorine filled water a lot

so instead bleach the tips so your hair get's lighter like a orange or light brown then, buy a hair dye that's for blonde hair and apply that over the bleached part

but wait in-between the bleach and the dye about a week =]

Bleach Black Hair Help ?!?!?!?

The reason why those girls hair came out orange, was because they did it their selves. If your hair is black and you want it Blondie, then you have to go to a professional. What they are going to have to do is strip out your hair. Which means they put this chemical in your hair that "strips" the color out, then they dye it to the color you want.

I recommend that you DON'T do it! It's not worth it. I did it, and it FRIED my hair. Now my hair is breaking off and a lot of it fell out. Be different...be the one that stands out. Well good luck!

Would very temporary black hair dye damage my hair?

I have thick darker orange/red, almost browny natural hair, and I'm wondering if I should dye my hair black for a 'crazy hair event' if i use one of those dyes that wash off in 3-5 washes, and I'm wondering if it would damage my hair (I do condition my hair often) and if the black would stay in my hair or turn my hair darker afterwards or something like that?

My hair has alot of volume, so id probably need to use quite a bit.

Would very temporary black hair dye damage my hair?

No it wont. It was designed to protect your hair during the hair color process.

Would very temporary black hair dye damage my hair?

No, it shouldn't. I think a lot of people think hair dye has a big affect on hair but it really doesn't unless you bleach it like every other week. But temp hair dye will be fine, and if it feels dry, buy some shampoo with vitamin e in it, it makes it soft!! :)

Would very temporary black hair dye damage my hair?

It can. My mom used it once for a halloween party and it took a lot longer than 3-5 washes to come out. She has light brown hair.

Would very temporary black hair dye damage my hair?

Nah, if its only temporary it won't damage your hair. With fading though, it depends on the condition of your hair, wether you've bleached/dyed it before etc

It'll be fine.

If your super worried out about the black not fading right but you liked having black. Keep it. =]

Or dye your another colour.

Good luck.

Would very temporary black hair dye damage my hair?

well first a temp will not damage at all, so no worries there. But you do have to worry about it staining your hair. Alot of times those dark colors will stain. You may could try (esp it being close to halloween) to find a spray hair color. You know the kind you can get in all diffrent colors...

Also, if you have a Sallys Beauty Store in your area, check in there. they have all kinds of pastes, sprays, etc that are very temporary.

Good Luck

Would very temporary black hair dye damage my hair?

Since it's temporary dye it may not damage your hair, but since you're using black the color may not all come out. You could end up with problems with that. Since you mentioned you're a guy it might be ok if you get your hair cut often. It wouldn't take to long for it to all grow out. Have fun on crazy hair day in any case.

Black hair with pale, pale skin?

Okay, I naturally have brown hair (not light brown, not dark brown), but I have always loved the idea of black hair. I've seen many people with pale skin and black hair, but I don't know if it will work for me because I have never met anyone with lighter skin than me. Should I dye it black?

(Please don't tell me to dye it dark brown instead. I'm sick of hearing that.)

Black hair with pale, pale skin?

Do it! Even though I'm sure you're already gorgeous, I love that black hair/fair skin look! Best to you! ;-)=

Black hair with pale, pale skin?

red mohawk

Black hair with pale, pale skin?

i think you should...i see a lot of white girls with black hair andi think it look really pretty.

itll look even more awesome with blue eyes.

Black hair with pale, pale skin?

Don't stick to a single colour. There are certain types in dyes which goes ok. Refer the specified site for further info.

Black hair with pale, pale skin?

yeah dye it the contrast is going to be amazing

Dying Hair Black.?

I have natural dark brown hair. Now it is a light brunette with a lot of blonde streaks. The roots are showing about two inches from the scalp so I'm dying my hair black. Ive ALWAYS wanted it to be black. But, I am British/100% European. I have REALLY fair skin. I want it to be Jet Black, but I have decided on Midnight Black[[Black with a bluish tint]]...

But I'm worried that my hair will turn BLUE from the dye. I might get it done professional. But, I dont know if I can afford it or not...

Any idea on what I should do, or another shade of black/hair colouring product ideas?

Dying Hair Black.?

hello dear,

i recently used a midnight black on a girl with brown hair and very pale skin.. she had dyed her hair blonde and we were covering that up.

it turned out looking really really nice...

the only thing is i had to put a toner through it first because her hair was bleached.

so in final advice...

because you have dyed your hair,

i would go back to the salon so your hair doesn't get damaged. or you could try doing it yourself but it's not the best of ideas.

and i have never heard about having to shave your hair off after dying it black..

Dying Hair Black.?

blue black

Dying Hair Black.?

just die it blue black it looks tight in the sun. but the down side about black is that u can't get it out until u a. completely bleach ur hair haha or b. shave it off

Dying Hair Black.?

Yes, do not use the bluish tint. The blonde streaks will most definitely pull the blue.

Try a very dark brown or another shade of black. When you color your hair black though, be prepared to be washing the color out of your hair each time you shampoo for about a week or so. This happens because dark colors have the most saturation. Its perfectly normal so don't freak out.

I think it will look good!

Good luck!

Carolyn

Got more color questions?

Dying Hair Black.?

I wouldn't go with the blue-ish black just go with jet black it'll look fine maybe when you get it died you can send me a few pictures so I can see how it turned out...

Hope I helped :]

Dying Hair Black.?

use a semi-permanent first to see if you'll like it

Dying Hair Black.?

you can do it your self for real cheap. go to a beauty suply store get wella it's a semi permanent i use 2n it's a black looks really good. i had the same hair as you and i love the new look. girls with light eyes look great with dark hair.

My natural haircolor is black. What over the counter hair dye could I use to make my hair brown?

My natural hair color is black. I have managed to make it look a bit lighter by using over the counter hair dye like Clairol, etc... but now my hair is kind of brown, but still looks black. It only looks brown when I'm out in the sun. My black roots are showing now too. I want my hair to be brown, not dark brown, but a lighter brown. I don't want to get it professionally done when I know I just need to figure out what type of hair dye I can buy over the counter. My friend suggested buying a blonde dye, and that will turn my hair light the way I want it. But I want to see if anyone here can help me out who actually really knows or have tried it. The light brown hair dye that you can buy are not recommended for black hair. And I have tried it, and it doesn't really make my hair lighter anyway.

So any suggestions you may have, please let me know. Would getting blonde hair dye really work? And I've heard about bleaching. I just don't know how to do it...

My natural haircolor is black. What over the counter hair dye could I use to make my hair brown?

You need to get it professionally done, you don't understand that you could end up with orange hair, it is hard to control color deposit and removal in black hair, they will call u cheetoh!!

My natural haircolor is black. What over the counter hair dye could I use to make my hair brown?

Go to a professional the first time you do it, then you can do it at home. Too big a step to try yourself. Check out my website to book travel and earn extra cash http://www.debbiestravelstore.com/

My natural haircolor is black. What over the counter hair dye could I use to make my hair brown?

ask a professional, just go to a salon they know what to use, if u try it yourself ,then you might not like the outcome

My natural haircolor is black. What over the counter hair dye could I use to make my hair brown?

i made the same mistake by dying my own hair, even if it's just going a shade lighter. although on the packaging it says permanent it will wash out eventually and you're natural colour will show.get it done by a professional, this way they can mix colours to get the perfect shade you want. and you know for sure it's not gonna wash out

My natural haircolor is black. What over the counter hair dye could I use to make my hair brown?

Dont use a blonde dye. That will turn your hair copper, trust me Ive done it. The best company for me is Loreal. Go to http://www.lorealparisusa.com/ then click the haircolor icon at the bottom of the page. Then on the left it will give you the different names of their colors. Click on diff. ones and play around with it. Every diff. one allows you to find your shade. It will ask for your current color and the result you want. Then give you colors you can use for your color to give you the result you are looking for. Be sure to get some shampoo and conditioner for color treated hair after you've colored it to keep it from fading. Good luck to you!

My natural haircolor is black. What over the counter hair dye could I use to make my hair brown?

I had the same problem too, go to you local drug store and buy Feria Hi-Lift Browns by L'Oreal, it will lighten your black hair, without making it orange or brassy. Follow all the instruction and your should be fine.

My natural haircolor is black. What over the counter hair dye could I use to make my hair brown?

Black hair looks great on a man!!

black is very hard to dye, you can use Nice 'n Easy ( it is easy , cheap and last longer than the other brands)

Based on your current color, try one of these shades 118A Natural Medium Neutral Brown 0r 116 Natural light neutral brown for the most flattering results, you have to use the neutral color for black hair , otherwise your hair will turn orangy - redish,... Horrible!

every 2 weeks , you need to aply more dye to the roots and let it sit for only 15 - 20 minutes to get a more natural look.

You should dye all your hair every 6 to 8 weeks depending how fast it grows.

If you dye your hair , you must use a deep conditioner often to prevent damage and split ends

good luck

Dyeing Over Black Hair!!!!!!!!!!!?

hey guys :)

i do know for a fact that if you dye over black hair,, it will more than certainly go Ginger. So iv'e had to live with the black :/

right, my natural hair colour is blonde (just though that'd help).

and the black has faded into like a fady darkish brown, and some bits have faded into like a fady gingery dark brown.

if i were to dye over the fadey black intro blonde.....yeah it will probs go ginger....but what i want to know is that...does it help to go blonder the more fadeed the black is??

does washing black hair with "For Blonde" shampoo %26amp; conditioner help tone it down??

please help guys :/

Dyeing Over Black Hair!!!!!!!!!!!?

did you dye it black with permanent dye? if so, it's extremely damaging but you'd pretty much have to bleach your hair to strip it of the black dye (which would turn it orange), and then get it dyed/toned blonde

i really wouldn't recommend trying it at home.

and using the shampoo/conditioner wouldn't do anything because all it does is add shine agents to your hair. if you want to "tone it down", just use a semi-permanent black to go over it again or something, but that sounds like the opposite of what you want to do anyway.

Dyeing Over Black Hair!!!!!!!!!!!?

Yea, that's what happened to me. Tried to dye my hair back to my regular chocolate brown, and my roots ended up red. Now I'm stuck with growing it out.

To your first question, no, I don't think so. To your second, I'm not sure. Try it. What's the worst that could happen?

Dyeing Over Black Hair!!!!!!!!!!!?

To get rid of the black, you would need bleach and lots of it. You should also count on your hair to have the worst, dry, feeling in the world afterward. The only way to save you hair is to go to a salona nd have them "strip" the color out and then dye you hair back to the blonde. Its expensive, but it works.

Dyeing Over Black Hair!!!!!!!!!!!?

ok what you do NOT want is bright peroxide permanant completely unnatural blonde hair. I have never actually dye my hair (im only 15...)but from my school friends' experiences (which have been complete disasters by the way!) i know a little.

If i were you, just let your natural blonde hair grow through if you want a two tone colour or just cut your hair off and allow it to grow back nice and naturally blond.

and i doubt the shampoo would make a difference - they just cost loads and i have brunette hair and got this real expensive shampoo and it didnt work that amazingly.

and yes when the black fades out it should lighten unless the hair is damaged but i doubt it

whats wrong with ginger any way? haha

People with black hair only(coarse hair)?

Well I really want my hair to grow longer.I already have longer hair than the average full black, black person(past my shoulder) but I am looking for some methodes to make my hair grow longer...Thanks!

It is not meant to be racist but if you do not have this kind of hair please dont answer because you really have to have it in order to know how to take care of it properly thaanks...please keep comments about black hair growth methodes and not the issue of the type of anwerer i asked for thanks..

People with black hair only(coarse hair)?

well i am black and i have nappy kinky hair past my butt. what u do is use cocunut oil. my step mom is a indian hair dresser and she does my hair. she oil my hair every day with cocunut oil for 2 years and it grew from my ear level pass to my butt.

People with black hair only(coarse hair)?

Trim your ends regularly. I think you do it every 6 weeks

People with black hair only(coarse hair)?

Try different hair products like hair food and what not. Dont put a lot of chemicals in your hair to make it break easier because this can lead to slower hair growth as well. Try to keep your hair as natural as possible and avoid hot combs whenever you can.

Brown Hair and Black Eyebrows?

I am half white half asian and have black hair. I look mostly white rather than asian and i wanted to dye my hair medium brown/maybe dark brown. Should i dye my eyebrows as well or would brown hair look okay with black eyebrows? [cause i've noticed that blonde hair/really dark eyebrows arent too flattering] Also, is there an eyebrow pencil that could lighten my eyebrows? What shade would look okay w/ black eyebrows lol. sorry for all the questions! just paranoid about my hair =\

Brown Hair and Black Eyebrows?

Depends on the brown. I like brows one shade darker than hair color, it makes the eyes pop. Dark brown hair black brows fine. Medium brown has warm tones so it is nice to soften the brows a bit to give them warmth. Although some brows can be very stubborn due to courseness be carefull to not lighten to much no brunette has natural orange brows. Yuck.

Brown Hair and Black Eyebrows?

hey! i have dark eyebrows and blond hair and they look fine!

it looks very unique!

Brown Hair and Black Eyebrows?

Don't worry. The two colors are pretty close. It'll look fine.

Brown Hair and Black Eyebrows?

nah, don't dye your eyebrows. nobody dyes their eyebrows. plus black to brown isn't a big change. even blondes who are naturally brunette mostly don't dye their eyebrows.

however, you could use and EYEBROW lightener. (not regular bleach) if u want

My hair is to black, help!?

Ok, so I originally have black hair (soft). I have always had dark hair and about a month ago I really wanted to try something different so I had the stylist lighten it. It was nothing like what I saw in my head due to my dark hair I am sure. My hair was orange and pretty gross if you ask me. It did not look like me and I hated it so bad anyway so I was like ok I will just dye it back dark myself so I bought lorel feria in leather (soft black). So now my hair does not even look natural even thought it is black its to hard and I look like some crazy lady now. What do I do if anything? I hate going to see my family next week with this blue hair ugh.

My hair is to black, help!?

Since you dyed it black, you can't go back because it will never wash out. So my advice, just dye it black again, but a red base which will get rid of the blue.

My hair is to black, help!?

shave your head bald, say you did it for cancer and grab a toque

My hair is to black, help!?

Have it done professionally. I don't mess with dying my own hair because I had a very similar problem myself. It might be worth it to pay more to get rid of this problem.

My hair is to black, help!?

Get something that will add "lowlights" instead of highlights (one of those Loreal kits) This can help break up the color. This way you can keep your deep brunette locks but they will look more natural and will not look like you dyed your hair from a bottle yourself, producing one flat color...or see a hairstylist... Good luck!

I hair dyed black hair, can i bleach it and dye it dark brown?

i've dyed my hair permanant blue black 5 times since may 2007, and havent used blue black since august. a few days ago i tried using soft black to lighten it up a little bit, but only my roots lightened not the rest of my hair. so now its still black. i have been using a clarifying shampoo to try and fade the color a little but it doesnt seem to be working. i would like to dye it chocolate brown. today i bought a feria bleaching kit, and i was going to bleach it and then dye it brown. will it work? how will the brown dye take? is this safe to do to my hair?

I hair dyed black hair, can i bleach it and dye it dark brown?

you'd have to bleach it at least two times before you can get a good choclate brown without an orange tint..one bleach will make it orange, two times bleaching will make it a bit light brownish but still a bit of orange, but with the brown hair dye it will take the orange away..be careful though!! bleaching and dying a lot will kill your hair..

I hair dyed black hair, can i bleach it and dye it dark brown?

My suggestion would be go to a Paul Mitchell School and they can do it for you for half the price!

what people dont know is BLACK is the hardest color to remove! so when you lift it with bleach you are going to see a Brassy Orange that 90% of people dislike!

You would have to cancel the orange out correctly the first time to have your hair be in better condition that MERELY APPLYING BLEACH AFTER BLEACH APPLICATION!!!!

ALSO the store Box Colors are very harsh! so when you choose a color you kinda have to stick to it because COLOR ON TOP OF ANOTHER COLOR CANNOT CHANGE!

goodluck :)

I hair dyed black hair, can i bleach it and dye it dark brown?

I personally would not bleach your entire head. Instead I would reccomend a "bleach wash" or "shampoo cap". It is a gentler alternative than bleaching your entire head. But it is a more gradual process. This is where you mix your bleach with a tad of developer (i like mine just enough to make it gritty) and then add a gentle cleanser. So mix 1 part bleach to 1/2 developer %26amp; 1/2 shampoo. Apply this to the parts of your hair that you want to lighten. WATCH IT IN THE MIRROR or have someone else do it for you. As soon as you start to see the color lift begin rinsing it out. This shouldn't take very long. At this point towel dry your hair and then apply your lighter color to damp hair. About 2 days after you have colored your hair use a deep conditioner to help restore your hair's elasticity and moisture.

I hair dyed black hair, can i bleach it and dye it dark brown?

firstly, dont bleach it..... you shall uin your hair and end up paying a fortune to have it sorted out....

when you colour your hair yourself you get a build up of colour on mid lengths and ends, that is why your last colour only worked on the roots, I work in a busy city centre salon, and we are always getting girls in with this problem, this is what we do, 1st, take a sample of hair and bleach it to see how striong the hair is, more often than not it ends up knackered....

so we use a bleach shampoo, basically weak hydrogen peroxide, bleach, shampoo and water, all carefully measured, this is then applied to the ends, slowly working up to mid lengths, then after that has done we put a quasi colour on, send the client away for a couple of weeks, tell them to use conditioning treatments to strengthen the hair and repeat the whole process,

If you put that bleach on your hair you shall end up with bright yellow (if not white) roots, golde/ orange midlengths, dark orange/brown ends, that is assuming that you dont overload your hair and ruin it all together, which trust me, happens, when thatt happens you hair when wet shall stretch like chewing gum, ang generally the only option then is to have your hair shaved and start again.

My advise, very strongly is, take the bleach back, get a refund and book a consultation in a reputable salon, for free they shall take a sample of your hair and test it... best to be safe than profoundly upset...

I hair dyed black hair, can i bleach it and dye it dark brown?

Trying To "Bleach-Out" Black Dye (Especially Blue-Black) May Or MAY NOT Work, If You Want To Get Rid Of Dark Haircolor, Get A Haircolor Remover Kit. (L'Oreal OR Color Oops! - Found Where You Buy Home Haircolor) Or Get L'Oreal Effasor Or Effasol Or Clairol UNCOLOR Powder Found At Most Beauty Supplies. Be Prepared To Re-Color Afterward. As For "Other Methods" Except For Waiting For It To Fade On Its Own (It Will Probably Grow-Out First) There Is NOT ANY OTHER SAFE Way Than The Ones I Mentioned Above.

Good-Luck!

I hair dyed black hair, can i bleach it and dye it dark brown?

Nope, no need for bleech at all!!!

I dyed mine black a while ago,

So my hairdresser stripped the colour from my hair, left it a day, and then put a brown dye on it,

i was all set on bleeching it, but she said there was no point. her way was cheaper and easier! it only cos me 鎷?0 for the hair stripping cream as i bought my own dye :)

Bleaching faded black hair?

My friends have done it with their very dark brown and black hair, so I thought I'd give it a try. I don't care if I ruin my hair. It's insanely healthy, only been dyed once so if it ends up a bad color, I'll just dye it black again and let that take over, but I was wondering how much hair bleach I would need, not regular bleach, to get my hair from a fading black, with brown roots almost half way grown to a bleach yellow.

I heard it goes from stages of orange, yellow to white. I just want to get it to yellow so I can dye it over with a dirty blonde.

How much hair bleach would I need and how difficult is this process?

I don't have the money for a salon, and I'm not that desperate. My hair isn't everything. I just want a change.

Bleaching faded black hair?

ok i have a friend who did it and it looks good but it is yellow not blonde. I suggest that u should go get it done professionally. just in case.

Bleaching faded black hair?

The amount of bleach you need will depend on your length and thickness not your color. You will need to use a 30 volume developer. Then you just have to leave it on and checkit periodicly till it is the shade you want. It may take an hour or more. Just keep an eye on it. Then like you said go over it with the dirty blonde following those directions. Also, it will help protect your hair if you don't wash it for a day or two before you bleach it then your natural oils take care of your hair a little. You still need to condition like crazy after.

Natural Black Hair, I have to ask...?

I just wonder why people think of nappy black hair as a bad thing. I just read a "best answer" by a black girl who says she is fully black but has wavy and curly hair and that makes her hair nice. In other words "good hair". She then calls tightly curled and highly textured hair "nappy and buckshot", as to prove that not all black people have that kind of hair. I'm just curious as to why nappy hair is considered ugly and why loosely curled or relaxed hair is considered acceptable. I cut my nearly bra-strap length relaxed hair a few months ago to be 100% natural, and I LOVE it. Only serious answers, racist or otherwise stupid answers will be reported.

Natural Black Hair, I have to ask...?

This is because, unfortunately, the European standard of beauty (silky, long hair and light skin) has permeated black society so that lighter skin and "whiter-looking" hair is more desirable. This same effect can be observed in other minority communities: Many East Asians now have surgery on their eyelids to make their eyes appear rounder and more European. Many Indian women use skin-lightening creams and avoid the sun in order to maintain a lighter skin tone. And of course, black women have been chemically relaxing their hair for ages.

Natural Black Hair, I have to ask...?

Maybe she was refering to the people who do absolutely nothing to their hair and have bad hygeine? I am sure you do SOMETHING to your hair. I like alot of different hairstyles and all different types of hair, but I also think that hair (of any color or texture) that is unkept is nasty.

Natural Black Hair, I have to ask...?

well, on most races nappy hair doesn't look that great, but on black people, it looks awesome!

Natural Black Hair, I have to ask...?

some people just like to label things good or bad there is actually no real good reason why people do that i like natural hair whatever way it is im not racist or big on labelin things im sure your hair looks great girl!

Natural Black Hair, I have to ask...?

myspace.com/thewonderfullworldofjd

it isn't spam.

just look at my pics bc i dont have any pictures of my hair on myspace.

and people think black hair is a bad thing because of an internalized self-hate dating back from slavery.

Natural Black Hair, I have to ask...?

I don't even like the expression nappy. Why is our hair given such negative connotations? I so agree with you girl. I do wear a relaxer. but i also love my natural hair. When i go without a relaxer for a while, i get "When are you going to do your hair? " Excuse me. Once it's combed and washed it is done. I love my hair. Straight or not straight :) We all have to learn how to love ourselves the way God made us. :)

Natural Black Hair, I have to ask...?

Personally, I love hair with tight curls. I have friends who deem their own hair nappy and claim to hate it because it's difficult to manage. Putting this kind of hair into a pony tail for instance, makes the roots not lie flat and pull back tight. In other words, the chunks of hair reveal the scalp against the head or they simply stand up creating a bump. If you can't handle that, then why not leave your hair loose or in a stylish head band?! I think that what makes your hair do nice is how you wear it yourself! Good for you in going natural.

Natural Black Hair, I have to ask...?

Media promotes straight and wavy hair, but doesn't show beautiful nappy hair, so people follow it.

Natural Black Hair, I have to ask...?

Im black and lots of people in my family have natural hair. I think its beautiful and plan on goind natural soon. I think people have a problem with Natural hair because they have a negative association with it. People assume that natural means "nappy" and thats not true, natural hair can be as beautiful as relaxed. I think that these feelings may date back to slavery and alot of african americans wanted to be accepted so they tried to stray away from their natural heritage as much as possible.

Natural Black Hair, I have to ask...?

Dont worry about shallow people who take things in from our past. To some extent it is not their fault as some girls get told that their hair is "good" from a young age.

P.S Nappy comes from the term "Naps" invented by africans to describe the seperate coild on out heads. Its a loving word, Nappturality all the way baybee!

Bleaching my black hair to blonde?

First I want to say that I have very, very thick hair. It's very healthy, as well. I dyed it black about 5 months ago, and now my roots are grown in about 3 inches. The black has faded a bit, and when I hold up my hair outside it seems like I can see more brown than black, but starring in the mirror I just see a faded black with brown roots. My hair is naturally dark brown.

My two friends, Kat and Kathryn have dyed their hair from dark brown and black blue in the past, after using hair bleach and their hair didn't ruined.

I've been thinking of using hair bleach, I think I'll need 2 bottles, but hopefully less. I can't afford to go to a salon right now, and hair isn't everything to me, so why not. Once it's bleached to a yellow or white I want to dye it to a dirty blonde, which was my hair color as a child.

I was just wondering how the bleaching process would work and what I could expect. Some say orange, some say I'll get yellow since it's faded. What do you think?

Thanks a bunch.

Bleaching my black hair to blonde?

I think if you can't afford a pro to fix it, save up until you can. You obviously don't know what you're doing or you wouldn't be here asking. You have an aura of vanity about you. You would be devastated if your hair went Orange and wiry.

*/*

Bleaching my black hair to blonde?

NOOOOOOOOOOO i did it my hair went orange and wiriery you have to get ya hair stripped at a salon back to its natural coulour then do it....

Bleaching my black hair to blonde?

i swear to god. dont do it.

itll turn BRIGHT orange babe.

dont do it.

i urge you.

my hair is LIGHT brown and i tried to bleach it myself and it turened orange.

if your hair is naturally dark and died black.

itll be TWICE as bad.

its fo your own good.

wait for the salon

just save up for it, if you REALLY still want to go blonde

Bleaching my black hair to blonde?

When it comes to bleaching (better known as lifting) your hair color it's better to let the pros do it. To much bleaching will strip all of your hair of nutrients and leave it brittle and breaking.

The strength is in the hair... keep it that way!

Bleaching my black hair to blonde?

I have simular natural hair and I went through the bleached phase in junior high. I don't suggest it at all, it's been years and my hair is just now starting to regain it's good health. Plus natural is always in, just style it however you feel each day. Good luck

Bleaching my black hair to blonde?

Hahaha. I've done this SO many times.

I have just bleached it over and over until it was blonde.

It was always kind of tacky-looking, though.

One time, I went and had the color stripped out of my hair and then dyed. That was very damaging, but it did the job!

The ends of your hair will turn out orange.

The top will be yellow.

If your hair can afford a little extreme...

then just do that.

And keep bleaching it. You'll be fine. It just takes a bit of a process.

Bleaching my black hair to blonde?

Whatever you have now is better. Trust me.

Bleaching my black hair to blonde?

my hair is naturally ark brown and when i bleached it its more orange and its kinda wirey and yea dont its like orange/dark brown still =)

Bleaching my black hair to blonde?

okay bleaching your hair, you need a professional to do that because it can be very dangerous for yourself to do it unless your talking about really blonde hair dye then its going to make your hair orange and then adding blonde in it will make it even worse so i know because i went from dark brown to blonde and it made it orange even if i tried doing it over again. The main thing is, bleaching yourself, you can burn your skull skin which is not good at all that's why professionallys know what they are doing but i guess you could get some instructions from them on how to do it and hopefully it will work that way.

Bleaching my black hair to blonde?

chances are, your hair will end up orange, unless its done correctly... heres the stages the hair goes thru in the bleaching process:

dark red

red

red orange

orange

yellow orange

yellow

pale yellow

depending on the color you want, thats the amt of time you have to let it sit... but make sure not to let it sit too long, because you could really damage your hair, causing it to fall out...

also, you have to make sure the bleach saturates all of the hair, or else you'll end up with cheetah spots...

and make sure you do your grown-out roots last, since they're a lighter color than the rest of your hair, otherwise you'll end up with hot roots (where the roots are a signifacantly lighter color than the rest of your hair)

and make sure when you do your roots, you dont' apply the bleach directly to your scalp, it can burn your scalp, causing it to feel very hot %26amp; itchy...

good luck...

Bleaching my black hair to blonde?

I think you should go to a salon.

Salons use a much stronger bleach that will give it the extra lift. They will then apply a color that is more suitable to your complexion.

I've had plenty of bad experiences trying to do it myself,

I spent more time and money trying to fix it myself than I did going to a Salon.

You may try going to a beauty college, were they may have more reasonable prices.

Bleaching my black hair to blonde?

This is a funny question because I am going thru the same process! Go to a salon to get it done, trust me, this is a difficult process but a hair stylist as long as he/she is good will be able to handle it.

Well, the first thing my hair dresser did was put a stripper on my hair, which is harmless, you could use it 6 times in one day...it fades all the colour. Then, since it was reddish/blondish/blackish (which is why u need a hair dresser..couldnt do it yourself) she dyed it brown, and put tones of caramel and blonde high lights. My hair looks REALLY light right now...next time I go back, she's going to "highlight the crap out of it" and just keep adding more and more highlights until it's blonde, you should only go once a month to keep it healthy so it should take about two months.

Now, if you bleach it yourself at home...beware. My friend did it, and when you bleach your hair all over with box dye (box dye is very bad for your hair, and if you've boxed dyed your hair with black previously it will be even harder to get out). It will turn orange. Trust me on this, all my friends in my little group either have platnium blonde hair or pitch black, and the ones that tried to bleach it at home...not a pretty sight! Ended up havng to bleach it 3 or 4 times in one night and looked totally fried.

I hope this helped, I know what ur going through black is such a tough colour to get out! Please listen and go to a salon though you won't regret it. To get a nice blonde and not an orangey or fried looking one, you need to do the highlights process. You just never know what will happen to your hair if you trust it in ur own hands lol, some people's could turn out find and some could turn out horrible.

Oh yes and I'll add one more thing, my hair hasn't been damaged going through this process because I went to a top salon, which is what you need to do! Try to do some research before you look into it. My hair is still soft and shiny as ever.

Bleaching my black hair to blonde?

if you really want your hair to return to it's previous color without turning orangey, go to your trusted hair stylist and ask if he/she can dye it back.

Bleaching my black hair to blonde?

I really think that you should do it in a much less harsh way than just putting bleach inyour hair because it will take a very long time to lift the black if it will even do that you should use a light brown and gradually get to the color you want without the bleach.. It is soooo damaging to do that to your hair. I really think you'll end up with a orange

Dyed black hair to bleach blonde?

My natural hair color is dark brown, and I went to black almost a year ago, if not a bit longer. Obviously I would continue dying it black when it would recomend it on the package.

Then I wanted bleach blonde hair (what I had when I was really young).

http://i93.photobucket.com/albums/l43/lm...

(thats me when I was about 3)

So my sister bleached it twice with 2 Clairol hair bleach kits from Walmart, and it turned blonde but this color the SECOND time she bleached it:

http://i93.photobucket.com/albums/l43/lm...

And then we gave up because we didnt want to damage my hair anymore, and so we dyed it black a week later.

I want bleach white blonde hair, if I go to a salon like The Hair Cuttery or the jcpenney salon, could they bleach my dyed black hair white blonde?

and if they did, what could I use to condition it and keep it nice and not fried?

(also it would help if you have gone from black to blonde)

xoxo thanks

Dyed black hair to bleach blonde?

Well, I have gone from black to blonde, and as U probobly know its not easy!! U tend to develope alot of red or brassy tones.... My advise, I think U should use a "haircolor stripper"- U can get this at walmart or let a professional do it- this will get all the other colors out that youve put in (especialy scence youve died it black). Then it will be easier to actually "bleach" your hair. As far as the damage goes- plan on using hair conditioning masks and hair serums- Jon Frieda works best for me and keep it trimmed to reduce the frizzy look. Also, a good hair straightning iron can work wonders for shine. Dont get the cheep ones they wont give U all the benefits of a good iron. And if U use hairspray, I like the "freeze hold" in the pink and white bottle at walmart- it makes my hair stay in place like no other hairspray and gives it great texture. Its in the isle with the urban sheens and hairproducts. U should try this stuff even before you color again...Youll never use another hairspray.(Best used when not straightened cause it is a super hold spray used for finishing and holding your hair). Hope U take my advise with the coloring and let me know how it turns out!!!!

Dyed black hair to bleach blonde?

I'd suggest getting your hairdresser to stripit back and dye it blonde:) im having mine done soon when the black fades a little hope this helps!:) Report It

Dyed black hair to bleach blonde?

they might have to do it everyother week but if u get a good brand it will go back to blond

Dyed black hair to bleach blonde?

yes, go to the salon and tell them what happened, they will be able to fix it.

Dyed black hair to bleach blonde?

You will have a hard time getting it to blonde. Because of the black. Talk to a hair dress at the beauty college.

Dyed black hair to bleach blonde?

Is there a Sally Beauty Supply near you? They usually have the best stuff for bleaching hair.

You need the developing powder, and then for maximum lift use a 40 cream developer. Don't forget a deep conditioner right after the bleaching.

Dyed black hair to bleach blonde?

Yes, if you go to a salon, they will do it perfectly, and it won't be extremely damaged like if you did it yourself. I would say just use a normal conditioner to condition is. Maybe Garnier Fructis or Gots2Be reconstructing deep conditioner. I would never go from black to blonde, but I know about dyeing hair, and everytime I bleach, I just use lots of conditioner every single day and it restores my hair almost to normal.

Dyed black hair to bleach blonde?

well I wouldn't have dyed it back to black after the second time. You have to make sure to treat your hair with good shampoos and conditioners. Make sure you wait at least a week before you go to a salon to get it dyed. I'm sure they could dye it, but it would take a lot of work and time. I had black hair when I was younger %26amp; highlighted it. Looked gorgeous. And then somehow my hair started to turn dark brown? Haha. But the highlights still looked good with dark brown. Ok the proper good answer would be to get it back to your natural hair color, because it's whats best for you, and I'm sure it would look nice (if you want some of the black still) to get some black highlights. If not, get more blonde highlights in them to make it look more blonde than brown. Looks good either way.

Dyed black hair to bleach blonde?

go to the salon. they would definatly dye your hair beach blonde. but go to a nice one, not great clips or something... because the nicer salons do a better job.

to keep your hair from not feeling or looking dry, use this shampoo from dove

http://www.dove.ca/hair/shampoo/lightene...

and this conditioner

hope i helped!!! :)

Dyed black hair to bleach blonde?

Just because you colored back to black after bleaching it, doesn't mean the bleach isn't still there. So many people think that if they just color there back then it will be fine. That isn't the case. Bleached hair is stripped of it color and other proteins that keep your hair healthy. So even though your hair is black now no matter where you go they will be bleaching your hair that has been colored, bleached, bleached again, and colored again. Not to mention all of the things that have been done to your prior to all of this because I highly doubt unless you have short hair that it has been cut off. So with that said if you go to a professional which is what I am of 15 years, and you tell them what you have done to your hair, they will either tell you they won't touch it, or they will make you sign a release form so they are not held reliable for what ever happens. If you don't tell them and something happens then you will have to fight them for your money back and chances are that you won't win and besides that no matter what you tell them they will know by the texture of your hair that you are not telling them the whole story. I would just leave well enough alone. Let your hair get some moisture in it and calm down for a while and just cut a hair cut.

Dyed black hair to bleach blonde?

if you are lightening your hair at all after fixing a dye that you did at home (or anywhere) when you go to a salon make sure they use what is called ash. this will neutralize the color more so you get the color you want. ask them ahead of time because its the first thing they will do, it has to be mixed in with the dye I think. if they dont use ash and they say they can fix it without, RUN!!! go somewhere else!!!! if you are leaving, and they say wait, we can do that, still leave because obviously they dont know what they are doing.

also, dont bleach it, dye it the blonde you want so your hair wont become so damaged.

Dyed black hair to bleach blonde?

I have dark brown hair, and when I went to a salon a while back and asked them to make it golden blond- the person mixed it wrong and I ended up with white, blond hair. I had to wait a while to add the golden blond to my hair so it would not be fried.

The beauty salon did not charge me for that visit since they messed up the color and 4 weeks later they did take me to a golden blond like I wanted.

What they had me do in between the two was to use one of the salon hair conditioners and twice a week I used a conditioner that would stay in for 20 minutes and I would heat up with a blow dryer. I then sprayed in some leave in conditioner each day. The bleach look did fry my hair which is why I did such a heavy condtioning. Within 2 1/2 weeks of that treatment I started going lighter on the conditioner. When I went back and they turned me to the golder color that I wanted I did keep up the conditioning but only had to do it once a week.

Ask the hair styleist what would be best for you hair. they should be able to tell you if you have healthy hair and not over worked hair.

Dyed black hair to bleach blonde?

If you are thinking platinum blonde, then it would really damage your hair. You should go to a good hair salon to get it done right since it would be a very strong thing they are using. If you are going to go through with it I say uses this shampoo and conditioner by Biolage. But you still need to take super good care of it.

Dyed black hair to bleach blonde?

you need to stop trying to do it yourself. always go to a salon they know what they are doing and you can acheive the color you want ok. good luck.

Dyed black hair to bleach blonde?

well my mom is a hair stylist if she were u she wouldgo 2 a solan and ask whoever works ther and if ur not pleased do it again.

Dyed black hair to bleach blonde?

im sure they can dye it back.

Does a black person HAVE to do my african-american hair?

When you go to college to learn about hair do they teach you about all types of hair (ex:black peoples hair, white peoples hair)

So why do so many black women say they need a black hair stylist to do their hair, or claim a white hair stylist will screw up their hair?

I'm 13 (half black/mexican, not that that matters) and I've never been to a hair salon before. But I have to go soncisdering my hair is just getting worse lol.

Well the salon we're looking at is the salon inside the wal-mart called smart syle i believe. And I see only white people in there but they look like they know what they are doing.

But would i be better off in a "black" salon...?

Does a black person HAVE to do my african-american hair?

As an African American I would prefer another to do my hair, because they know what procedures to go through because they have to go through it themselves. I would also prefer someone with credentials or who comes highly reccomended. I don't want just anyone touching my hair.

This is not say a caucasian person could not do it. But since I have the option, I prefer the latter. If lived in an area where where my only option was to have a caucasian person do my hair, I would allow them to do so, but only after I have seen their portfolio.

You don't HAVE to have an african american or a hispanic person do your hair. Put your trust in someone whom you feel will make you beautiful. This is just a personal preference of some folks.

Does a black person HAVE to do my african-american hair?

You'd be better off with a black person doing your hair becaise that's what their used to fixing.

Does a black person HAVE to do my african-american hair?

I imagine a black person would have more experience working with black people hair. You may come out better that way or ask around for a good place in your town.

Does a black person HAVE to do my african-american hair?

You go where the skills are....

Does a black person HAVE to do my african-american hair?

you are way better off letting a black person do it trust me, the others are used to doing their hair types.

In a black salon we know the ins and outs of "black" hair.

Does a black person HAVE to do my african-american hair?

A black or hispanic hair stylist would know how to treat your hair better because our hair texture is really similar.

I'm black and I go to a Dominican hair salon and I love the way they do my hair :]

Does a black person HAVE to do my african-american hair?

hmm, maybe because white people dont have african-american hair so they wont know how to treat it as well as a black american

Does a black person HAVE to do my african-american hair?

im half black too and i go to a white salon too.... but, the only black person that works there is the one that does my hair, black hair is usually more dry and its much easier to get split ends, and the last time a white person did my hair they cut so much ofmy hair off, they just dont understand that its different to take care of. Also, most black salons have special products that they use that work better on black hair.

Does a black person HAVE to do my african-american hair?

Why not ask the stylist if she can do the style you're wanting? Best way to find out. It's not like stylists with short hair don't know how to style long hair, or stylists with coarse hair don't know how to style fine hair.

Does a black person HAVE to do my african-american hair?

Go to a Dominican salon or a black salon. I tried to have a white lady do my hair at a Hair Cuttery and she messed it up!!! I had to go home and do my hair all over again. It's all about who has the most experience. Black women understand black/mixed hair better than white women. Now when I was in Korea years ago, this lady named Mrs. Han did my hair better than anyone I have ever known. If she was in the states I would go to her.

Does a black person HAVE to do my african-american hair?

Go to the Salon that you want to go to......

trust me .

Does a black person HAVE to do my african-american hair?

i really dont think it matters i think the only reason that it would be better for a black person to do other black peoples hair is that they have the same type and know exactly what to do. BUT if a white person knew how to do it than it shouldt be a problem :]

i would get a consultation with a hairstylist before you do anything though you want to make sure that whoever does it knows what they are doing!!

good luck!

Does a black person HAVE to do my african-american hair?

in my opinion both white and black hair salons both suck, but in different ways. you really have to pay attention with them. I know exactly how to take care of my hair, so i have to be very assertive when i go to Aveda, a salon with all white hairstylist.

black salons- will use products with petroleum jelly, alcohol, and mineral oil, one even tried to put that stuff in my hair before flat ironing which would cause to hair to fry, don't know how to take care of relaxered hair resulting in dry overprocessed hair, not used to natural hair so will not know how to do that either, will use the wrong heating appliances (stove top but instead they should use ceramic)without even atleast using heat protectant

white salons- just don't know what to do and will be confused, will use the wrong shampoo with alcohol, will try to brush your wet hair, will try to convince you how to do your hair( this makes me laugh), will try to use to same techniques they use with white people's hair with yours causing damage, will not know how to comb hair, will take awhile,

Have you ever thought about a Dominican Hair salon i have not been to one, however i have heard good things

Does a black person HAVE to do my african-american hair?

It depends on the stylist, I have been to a black and a white stylist and had good experience with both. I would ask before I let someone do my hair what is their experience.

Does a black person HAVE to do my african-american hair?

Go Black! I have learned the hard way more than once (I have let a white lady and a latino lady do my hair- never as good as a black woman would have done). People do best, what they know best. Black women do their own hair everyday. You will get better results if you go with a black woman and won't waste your money. Trust me GO BLACK.
