Bleaching black hair...?

well, i dyed my hair black a while ago...

i used semi-permanent hair dye, but it's still WAY dark, because i had fairly light hair when i dyed it.

anyway, i feel like it's becoming plain, a little, so i wanted to make it sort of like this:

as in, bleaching the top of it only... would this be possible to do without completely frying my hair, maybe DIY?

or professional?

either way, it ould be better to do several low concentration treatments, though, right?

As far as you doing that to your own hair, I don't see it happening. Well I wouldn't be able to do that myself, anyway. You need to go to a salon. And print the picture and bring it with you.

Since your hair is really dark it's going to be hard to bleach it yourself. Probably the roots will come out super light and then the rest of it will be kind of orangey. If you want it done right you should go to the salon because they will probably do it better.

I've bleached black hair before... it turns orange if you do it yourself.

Since you went from brown to black on your own using store products, you should go to a salon for anything more. You could really screw your hair up. Going from really dark to bleach is completely stripping the color you put on and your real color out of the hair shaft. Go to a salon so your hair does not fall out of your head.

I have naturally brown-black hair. I also was perfectly successful bleaching it at home. Because our hair contains more melanin, you'll have to get a stronger bleaching kit. I'd suggest Manic Panic Flash Lightning, available at Sally Beauty Supply. Also make sure to get a bottle of Born Blonde toner--it will look exactly like purple cough syrup, and it smells nice. Follow the instructions on the pack of Manic Panic, and once you've gotten to the yellow-orange stage (the directions explain this), wash out the bleach. Then, apply the toner and leave it on for up to 30 minutes. The toner is blue-violet, and acts against the reddish-orange shade that will result from bleach alone.

After that, you should be fine. It isn't nearly as difficult as people make it out to be.

my advice to you is dont attempt this at home go to a salon with that picture and let them do it you might not get the look you are trying to achieve doing it by yourself you might not need a purple toner you might not need a toner at all purple only takes out yellow tones not red or orange let a professional do it for you
