Is it possible to dye black hair blonde?

My girlfriend dyed my hair black 2 months ago or so. Since then the black has faded somewhat. It's definitely not as black as before, but it's still fairly black. When out in the sun I can notice a lot of brown, as if 1/4 of my hair is brown.

I was wondering if there's anyway I can dye my hair blonde?

My girlfriend claims she has done it when her hair was black but I'm a little sketchy on her method at the moment.

Yes , you can bleach the hair to blonde. I would recommend having that done by a professional though. I am speaking from experience. I kept my naturally brown hair, black for years. I keep my hair long, and when it came time to get rid of the black, i went to a professional with a great reputation. She did a wonderful job, but i still had her cut off a good 5 inches after she was done. It is very damaging to dye the hair and then lighten it. I do not know how long you keep your hair, or what kind of style. If it is something that you worked hard to have, then definitely have a professional do it. If it is just a simple short hair cut that can be cut shorter and grown out, then you can try to lighten it yourself. Good luck to you.
