Issue with dying black hair to dark auburn?

Ok, i've been trying to dye my hair from black to dark auburn but it hasn't been working my hair has this dark brown tinge when i run my fingers through it but in general it looks extremely dark brown almost the same original color black, but a little more brassier and reddish, so if i put hair dye all in my hair and then sit in the sun and put lemon juice in my hair will it actully help it get more lighter to an auburn color? (I'm a guy with short hair)

Pick a lighter color than the dark auburn on the box...putting dark auburn on black hair only changes your hair slightly. Choose medium auburn, for example...it should give you better results.

YOU CAN USE A HIGHER VOLUME FOR THE COLOR. IN MOST BOX COLOR THEY COME WITH 20 VOLUME, YOU MIGHT WANT TO UP GRADE TO A 30. IF YOU CAN TRY BORROWING A SIT UNDER DRYER FROM SOMEONE, BEFORE YOU GO UP UNDER THE DYER PUT A PLASTIC CAP ON SO IT CAN PRODUCE HEAT SO THE HAIR CAN CHANGE. ALSO PLEASE DON'T USE LEMON JUICE AND SIT IN THE SUN.
