Getting my black hair to be light enough./ AM I GOING TO BALD?

I've been dying my hair on and off for like...6 years. at least two years was bleaching it but then i dyed it black. it is black right now.

i want to take enough black out to dye my hair to a natural bright red.

i wouldnt mind if it was orange, but what should i do to get the black out without damaging my (probably already chemically damaged) hair.

if it helps, ive been so damn paranoid about my hair that i only wash it weekly. only other ...advice to help my hair not fall out...?

chemical stripping is very bad for your hair, and so is bleaching it. you cant strip color with more color either. your hair is probablly really dead at the ends, and will get even worse if you do the above mentioned. your best bet is to get all the dead hair (mostly at the ends) cut off (otherwise known as a chemical cut, my hair got so bad, that it had to happen) once you have a cut, your hair will be healthier and grow out faster. as far as coloring goes, you might as well choose a shade that is closer to your natural color, or a dark brown and let it grow out. then you'll be able to go red.

good luck.

your safest bet would be to go to a professional salon and ask them to do a color removal for you. they make special color removers that dont damage the hair

if you continue and this rate, yes! stop obsessing about your hair and leave the poor stuff alone! you're torturing it.
