Black hair care?

Im a black woman with short hair. I cant seem to keep moisture in my hair. It gets dry really fast. I keep it wrapped at night and I use Liv hair creme. That helps for a little while then it just gets dry again. Please help.

I have actually just went back to Luster's Pink Oil...I haven't used that since I was a child, but it works great. I was having bad breakage and dry hair but the Pink Oil has been working. Give that a try.

Also try some of those moisturizing holding shampoos with the oils it may help

try conditioning your hair more often-stay away from blowdryers as much as possible. Liv's is pretty good, but when something's not working, just try something else. pantene's relaxed and natural's moisturizer is pretty good.

Try a leave in conditioner, my stylist uses vitale hair care products, try to leave it down when you go to bed sometimes, and use a silk hair wrap %26amp; pillow case, because i found out cotton absorbs all the oil out of our hair.. hopes this works...

That's going to happen it happens in most ethnic afr american hair %26amp; it seems like you have dry scalp well not really dry but it soaks up moisture so does mine but apply the moisture like no more than 2x a month b/c really yo don't need alot just enough to feed the scalp 2x trust me I'm a stylist of 15 yrs moisture has been my problem 30+ yrs and when u wash your hair look for a deep conditioner in the shampoo it helps too.It keeps hair from getting too dry less washing b/c the worlds hard water will strip our hair of moisture.

I don't know what your hair regimen is but you might want to try a deep conditioning once a week. (try mixing olive/jojoba oil in your conditioner for added moisture)

Staying away from heat helps with moisture also. Air drying in stead of blow drying really helps to lock in moisture.

If you do use heat, it should just be a flat iron, i know how our hair tends to frizz if we dont blow dry.
