Color my hair black?

My hair is about one or two shades above black (very dark brown). I want to dye my hair black. What is the best store bought hair color brand to use? Also, I was checking out the blue-black hair color. I was wondering, if I went with that color and it faded out after a while, would it fade to an ugly bluish color?

The blue is what is going to wash out first...so you will be okay. Try shopping at a beauty supply store. Like Sallys Beauty Supply. You are going to find the safest hair color to use on your hair there. I would try Wella.

The best thing to do is NOT fool with Store bought dyes. Go and get it professionally done. And they'll fix it if it doesn't turn out right... wouldn't be good business to tell everyone that "Such-n-such" done your hair that way ; ) So win-win situation.

If you do it yourself you aren't guaranteed it'll turn out the way you like.

You can always go darker, but going lighter is a ***** to do. So make sure that is what you want to stay with for a while. No it doesn't fade to a bluish colour.

As for what brand, it depends if you are using a semi-permanent colour( washes out in a couple of weeks, does not cover grey) Or a permanent colour( fades and grows out( will have roots to deal with)

Have it done by a professional Hair Stylist..if you do it yourself you may miss spots and it shows...My daughter did the blue/black and it did not fade to a bluish color just faded to a flat black color. Good Luck!

Try L'Oreal Paris, Casting line

I had my hair blue-black but my natural hair is dark blond, so when it faded it turned green :))) I really mean it! So, I don't know what to tell u

I have almost-black hair, too. For a while I colored it black. I can't remember the brand, but it was something "naturals". It is a temporary color that will fade, but the blue-black doesn't fade to a bluish color. It will just slowly fade back to your own color. Try this first before going permanent.

I have died my hair black before and the best hair color would probably be Feria. It seems to color very evenly and leave a beautiful shine. Blue-black does not leave a bluish mess when it fades. Usually the blueness fades out leaving just black. It should be noted that black hair color is VERY hard to remove. So, maybe you should start with a temp color like from Hot Topic first to be sure you'll like it.

I've never seen dyed black hair yet that didn't look fake and too harsh...have it done professionally, for sure. But I do know 2 friends who had a blue sheen to it, and it did not fade to bluish. Actually, I think the blueness of it kind of faded first, so I don't think Smurfiness is a fear.

Color my hair black?

garnier

Color my hair black?

No, you be blue LOL. Like you my hair is a couple shades lighter and I used L'Oreal Feria "Starry Night"...it looked great. The only problem is when it faded fast, the lighter hair turned it into this funky brown black (that I hated). So until it grew/faded completely I used Color Pulse(also by L'Oreal) in electric black...which worked nicely.
