Highlighting is something one should not do by one's self. Yes, you need bleach to pre-lighten for a colour to show up on your hair. I would suggest seeking professional help with that one considering over-the-counter "walmart" bleach isn't all that great and is VERY damaging to your hair. Also, if you're seeking a vibrant purple to put in your hair, I suggest semi-permanent that washes out eventually. If this really is a money issue... and you can't afford a professional.. I would go to the store and purchase a cap with holes in it that you can pull out yourself and get a friend or your mom or something to help out with it. Goodluck! 閳?br>Highlighting Black Hair-?

Every hair, even blond hair need bleaching in order to achieve purple, blue, violet, green shades. It is a difficult thing to do alone in home especially if this is your first time. You can have stains on your hair or burn them or destroy them. Bleach is a dangerous product if you don't know how to use it. Better go to a salon. You also need to know that these colors you prefer don't last for very long. They tend to be washed away day by day.
